GILTS

Minimum Wt. 190 lbs. – Maximum Wt. 325 lbs.

A 10 pound weigh-back of the weight turned in on the CARD will be used for the maximum weight only.

Purebred gilt papers will be checked before entering the holding area before assigned class. BRING YOUR PAPERS WITH YOU.  IMPORTANT: REGISTRATION PAPERS MUST BE A HARD COPY.

TRAILERS WILL BE PARKED ON THE RUNWAY.

NO CLIPPING/FITTING/BEDDING IN WASH RACKS.

Only exhibitors will be allowed in the show rings and holding areas.  No one is allowed behind placing pens except volunteers designated by superintendents.  Parents or other exhibitors will not be allowed to assist the exhibitors in the show rings, holding pens and behind placing pens during judging time and shall remain completely outside show, holding pens and placing pens.

SUPERINTENDENTS DECISION IS FINAL.

Lost tags on all animals must be replaced by check in time for their division.  All commercial gilts must have an attached tag to enter the show ring.

All animals must be on the grounds by check in and must remain on the grounds until shown.

All market hogs placing 1st thru 3rd will be weighed.  A 10 pound weigh-back of the weight turned in on the CARD will be used for the maximum weight only. Any hog that weighs out will be disqualified and the next place hog in the class will move up.

Purebred gilts will show by birthdate.

Registration Papers:  All purebred gilts must have registration papers. Registration papers must be transferred into the name of the exhibitor by the respective breed association by December 15, 2025.  Joint ownership with siblings only is permitted if the gilt is entered and exhibited solely in the name of one individual junior exhibitor and that exhibitor is one of the siblings listed on the registration paper issued by the breed association.  Gilts with a farm, ranch, or non-sibling owner name listed as the owner will NOT be allowed to compete.  Registration papers that are signed on the back by the respective breeder, but not officially transferred into the exhibitor’s name by the breed association will not be accepted.  No Pending Papers. Registration papers will be checked before entering the holding area before assigned class.  BRING YOUR PAPERS WITH YOU. IMPORTANT REGISTRATION PAPERS MUST BE A HARD COPY.  Exhibitors must have original papers.  If ear notches on the papers do not match the animal at the gate, it will be disqualified.

Registered and commercial gilts must have hair samples (DNA); Birthdate and breed must be recorded on nomination form.  Gilts must be shown as nominated.  If an exhibitor nominates a registered gilt with papers pending and would like the option to show the gilt as commercial, in case registration papers are not received, gilt must be tagged with a MRJLS tag.

There will be no official weigh in of Dark or Light Commercial Gilts.  Complimentary scales will be available.

There must be 10 hogs entered and weighed in to make a breed. Less than 10 will be moved to AOB.  If less than 10 hogs are checked in the holding area.  These hogs will be excused and brought back to show with AOB.

No snaring of hogs, Snaring will disqualify the exhibitor.

Weights must be written on card or hog will be put in heavy weight.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE

All Market Swine exhibited in the state of Oklahoma for Spring Shows shall:

  1. All swine exhibitions will be required to have an OYE tag or MRJLS tag and 840 tag.  Exhibitors are responsible for getting an 840 tag from your veterinarian.   All pigs are required to have an 840 EID tag.
  2. Have a negative pseudo rabies test conducted after November 10, 2025 and be identified on the test chart by official identification number.  PAPERS WILL BE CHECKED.
  3. Present test record or proof of test by health certificate at each exhibition.
  4. After exhibited, be kept separate and apart from all breeding swine or until they are tested negative in not less than thirty (30) days following last exhibition or shipped direct to slaughter.

Owners and or immediate family members of owners of pseudorabies qualified herds may exhibit swine originating from their qualified herd without the required testing provided the required identification pseudorabies herd status and number are presented at each exhibition.

Swine from pseudo rabies qualified negative herds that have been exhibited in Oklahoma lose qualified status and must meet all state of destination test requirements prior to interstate movement.  After being exhibited they must be held separate and apart from all other breeding swine and be retested negative in not less than 30 days following last exhibition reintroduction to qualified herd.

SHOW ORDER: On each day breeds will show in alphabetical order followed by Crossbreeds

ALL BREED CHARACTERISTICS WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE JUDGE.

 

BARROWS

Minimum Wt. 190 lbs. – Maximum Wt. 290 lbs.

A 10 pound weigh-back of the weight turned in on the CARD will be used for the maximum weight only.

Hogs will be penned in barns.

Barrows may enter the barns 1 hour after the gilt show is complete.  A text message will be sent with time.

ALL TRAILERS WILL BE PARKED ON THE RUNWAY.

NO CLIPPING/FITTING/BEDDING IN WASH RACKS.

GILT AND BARROW SALE ORDER:  The total number of swine selected by the judge for the premium auction will be 60 head; total barrows and gilts combined.  The number of barrows and gilt spots will be determined on a percentage bases.  Sale order for gilts chosen on Tuesday will be preliminary ONLY.  Sale numbers cannot be determined until after Barrow cards are turned in.  The determination is based on a total number of each sex entered and weighed in. 

Premium sale selection and alternative selection will take place immediately following the Breed and Reserve Breed Champion selection. If you placed in your class you may be required to show for sale order and alternate sale order.  Exhibitors that are eligible for sale order MUST be ready to return to the show ring.  Exhibitors must drive their own animals unless they have two showing for sale order; unless that exhibitor has 2 or more animals in the arena.  Only then will a substitute be allowed.

Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion and Bronze Medallion Gilt and Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion and Bronze Medallion Market Hog will be selected.
